In the summer of 2010, Rebecca became the new owner of Sharpening on Site. Rebecca grew up on a family farm and is an OSU graduate. She has worked for OSU, the State of Ohio, and the City of Columbus. But the first time she saw the Sharpening on Site truck, she set her sights on a new goal: becoming a master sharpener. Rebecca completed a general sharpening course from the Foley-Belsaw Corporation, read books, and started an apprenticeship with Sharpening on Site. In July of 2010, well-prepared for a leadership position, Rebecca bought the
company and both Louise and Rebecca are delighted. Louise has the satisfaction of knowing her clients will be well served into the future, and Rebecca has found her true calling. Since then, Rebecca has been happily sharpening for the central Ohio area.
After operating Trees by Louise in Columbus for more than 12 years, Louise opened Sharpening on Site in 2004. She successfully updated a traditional business in an under-served market, in part through her innovative design for a mobile sharpening truck. Louise sold Sharpening on Site to Rebecca Lyon in July of 2010. However, she has never truly left the business. She remains with Sharpening on Site, providing direct sharpening services, as well as training and consultation. Together, she and Rebecca work to ensure that Sharpening on Site clients continue to receive the high level of service and quality results the company has been known for since its inception in 2004.
